What to Expect
Beginning therapy is a meaningful step, and it's important that you feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout the process. My goal is to create a space that feels welcoming, collaborative, and grounded in trust from our very first conversation.
Life doesn't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Sometimes we simply need space to slow down, gain perspective, and navigate life's changing seasons with greater clarity
How Getting Started Works
Free 15-Minute Consultation: We'll connect briefly over the phone or video to discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you have, and see if working together feels like the right fit.
First Session (Intake): We’ll explore your background, current stressors, and what you hope to get out of therapy so we can build a clear, personalized path forward.
Ongoing Sessions: Together, we’ll determine a frequency (weekly or biweekly) that supports your lifestyle, goals, and budget.

Summit Point Counseling is a private-pay practice. Choosing private pay ensures your care remains completely confidential and tailored to your individual needs—without insurance requirements, mandatory diagnosis codes, or session limits.
Standard 50-Minute Session Rates:
Telehealth Session: $110
In-Person Session (Littleton): $125
Walk & Talk Session: $125
In-Home Session: $140
Payment is due at the time of service via a secure credit card kept on file in your client portal. A limited number of reduced-fee appointments are available based on financial need.
-
Life happens, and unexpected situations arise. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice or missed without notice may be charged the full session fee. This policy protects reserved appointment times and allows opportunities for other clients to access care.
-
Virtual therapy is conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform accessible from your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Per state regulations, clients must be physically located within the state of Colorado at the time of each appointment.
-
Your privacy is an essential part of the therapeutic process. Information shared in therapy is strictly confidential except in limited circumstances required by law (such as imminent safety concerns, suspected child or elder abuse/neglect, or court-ordered disclosure). These limits are thoroughly reviewed during your initial intake.
-
I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Colorado, holding a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Master’s degree in Geriatric Psychology. I currently practice under clinical supervision while completing final hours toward independent clinical licensure (LCSW).
Clinical supervision is a standard, ethical practice that provides consultation and collaboration to ensure you receive high-quality, evidence-informed care. Client confidentiality is always strictly maintained during consultation.
-
Summit Point Counseling is an out-of-network, private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly.
Why Private Pay?
Choosing private pay keeps your therapy completely confidential and tailored entirely to your personal goals. Insurance companies require a formal mental health diagnosis on your permanent record, dictate the number of sessions allowed, and can request access to your private therapy records.
Superbills:
Depending on your insurance provider, you may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement. Upon request, I can provide a monthly itemized receipt (called a Superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential partial reimbursement. I encourage you to call the number on the back of your insurance card to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.
-
In-home therapy provides specialized, compassionate support in the comfort and convenience of your own space; ideal for older adults, individuals with mobility needs, or caregivers managing demanding schedules at home.
Travel Area & Scope: In-home sessions are available within a 10 to 15-mile travel radius of West Littleton. Primary communities served include Littleton, Ken Caryl, Morrison, Lakewood, Highlands Ranch, Englewood, Golden, Centennial, and South Jefferson County.
Fees & Extended Distance: Standard in-home session rates ($140 / 50 min) cover all travel within our primary 15-mile radius. If you live outside this primary service area, in-home care may still be available with a modest travel surcharge, or we can easily connect via Telehealth.
Comfort & Privacy: To make the most of our time together, we simply ask for a quiet, private spot in your home where we can speak freely and without interruption during our 50 minutes.
-
Walk & Talk therapy combines traditional session work with gentle movement and nature. Sessions take place side-by-side on designated, quiet outdoor walking trails in local Littleton parks.
Pace & Fitness: The movement is kept at a comfortable, relaxed walking pace that works for you—this is not a workout!
Weather Policy: In the event of severe weather, high heat, snow, or heavy rain, we will seamlessly transition your appointment to a Telehealth video session or reschedule for an in-person office visit.
-
Due to state licensing laws, clients must be physically located within the state of Colorado at the exact time of their virtual appointment.
If you are traveling out of state for vacation, work, or temporary residence, we cannot hold virtual clinical sessions while you are across state lines. However, as long as you are anywhere within Colorado (whether at home, in your office, or traveling elsewhere in the state), Telehealth is completely secure and accessible from your phone, tablet, or laptop.
